Single table poker tournaments which are more commonly refered to as "sngs" or "sit and go's and even sometimes called "sit-n-go's" are the most popular of all online poker tournaments, both Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars literally have hundreds and even thousands of sit and go tournaments being played at any given moment.  The idea behind the name is that there is always a different "sit and go tournament" starting, all you need to do is sit. Heads Up SNGS

Single table where two players start with the same number of chips and a blind schedule, play goes until one player wins.  Heads up sit and go's or "sngs" as we call them are offered in all buyin levels, from $1 or less all the way up to $10,000, and are sometimes offered in multi table "shoot out" formats as well.

Six Max Shorthand SNGS

A single table tournament that plays down until only one player is left, with second place paying out as a "runner up". Six man sngs are great action, and a quick way to get better at short handed play.

Full Ring SNG Tournaments - 9 Or 10 Man Sit And Go's

Full table sit and go or "sngs" are normal full table tournaments, and are played down to a lone survivor. These are also held in "multi table" sit and go's with anywhere from 18 or 27 man sngs, or the very popular 45 man sngs.  In nearly MTT style the biggest sit and go poker sites offer 90 man and even 180 man sit and go's too.
